Posted on May 29, 2015 by Emma NicolsonThe final preparations for tomorrow's (Saturday 30th May) Young Person Arts Festival are underway, and the site is taking shape! A host of different creative artists, artisans and practitioners will be descending on the Woolmill ready to run workshops and sessions on weaving, spinning, circus skills, drumming, green wood working, carding, farriering, felting and more! The festival is open to young people aged 12 - 18, and is totally free! The drop in workshops will run from 12.30 - 4, with the site open for registration from 12pm. Please ensure you are dressed prepared for the weather as it might get wet!
Deep in the Spey Valley, Knockando Woolmill continues an unbroken 200 year old tradition, producing woven fabric on its historic looms.
Knockando Woolmill has always been at the heart of the local community. Listed as the 'Wauk Mill' in parish records from 1784, the mill has since maintained its traditions of spinning and weaving through generations of families.
All profits go to the Knockando Woolmill Trust to ensure the future of the Woolmill.
